It’s almost Easter, and your church still doesn’t take debit cards. Visitors come on Palm Sunday and then Easter Sunday. They are inspired by the amazing work your church is doing. They want to give, but you don’t have any way to help them live into their innate longing to be generous.
Checks are going away by 2025, it is estimated. And few people carry much cash anymore. Most people under the age of 60 don’t write checks. If your church isn’t ready to receive gifts by credit cards, then the visitors in your worship services are missing out on the spiritual practice of generosity, and your church’s ministry isn’t as well funded as it could be.
