Your United Methodist Foundations are pleased to announce that they have formally merged and adopted the name, “Mountain Sky United Methodist Foundation, Inc.”
The Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain United Methodist Foundations have worked together for many years to provide planned giving resources and loans to the entire region. In 2016, we created a formal operating agreement, and after a period of working together and formal due-diligence, we agreed to tie the knot and legally merge. In October this decision was formalized, and the new board was voted in.
Because we serve the churches in the same geographic region as our annual conference, the boards voted to call the new organization the Mountain Sky United Methodist Foundation, Inc. Do not confuse us with the Annual Conference. We remain a separate legal entity, including an independently elected Board of Directors, nonprofit corporate registration with the states, and IRS 501(c)(3) charitable status.
Since 1997, the Yellowstone Conference United Methodist Foundation has helped churches establish endowments, provide planned giving services, and stewardship programming to the churches in Montana, Northern Wyoming, and one county in Idaho.
Since 1987, the Rocky Mountain United Methodist Foundation has served churches and ministries in Utah, Colorado, and Southern Wyoming to help establish endowments and provide planned giving services. In 1996, the Rocky Mountain foundation purchased a development fund from the Rocky Mountain Annual Conference to create what is now known as the Methodists Helping Methodists Fund.
We will continue to provide services to help churches, ministries, and members strengthen their finances by providing financial tools, services, and products that support our United Methodist faith and beliefs:
- Socially Responsible Investments
- Endowment Building
- Planned Giving
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Trusts
- Methodists Helping Methodists Fund
We will continue to remain independent so that you can be assured that your deposits are well managed and that we remain a fiduciary in our continued business relationship.
In God’s service,
Your United Methodist Foundations’ Board of Directors
